SPEED OF PLAY
As the shortest day of the year draws near, it’s essential to maintain an efficient pace of play to ensure all members enjoy their rounds. Shorter daylight hours mean less time on the course, making it crucial to keep rounds moving smoothly.
Use these 4 tips to help keep your group moving:
- Pick Up Your Ball: If you cannot score on a hole, pick up your ball to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Play Ready Golf: If you’re a shorter hitter, be ready to play first from the tee.
- Prepare Ahead: Walk ahead to your ball if it’s safe to do so, prepare your club, and be ready to hit as soon as your playing partner has played.
- Move Forward: If your group is out of position (behind the group in front), once two players have putted out, those players should proceed to the next tee to tee off while the others finish.

Quick 6
Round 1 of the Quick 6 Competition was played last Friday, and it was a tightly contested round from start to finish!
Craig Penfold took home the win on a countback with a strong score of 15 nett.
Matching that score was Tim Holland, just missing out by the slimmest of margins.
Close behind was Joe Callagan, finishing with a solid 16 nett.
Get ready for more action – the next Quick 6 Competition is happening on Friday, June 20th.

US Open Draw
The 2025 U.S. Open Golf Championship is scheduled to commence on Thursday, June 12, and conclude on Sunday, June 15. This prestigious tournament marks the 125th edition of the U.S. Open and will be held at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, which is hosting the event for the tenth time.
Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau returns alongside top contenders like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
The Women’s Committee is delighted to announce that a total of $1,345.00 was raised at the Club’s Biggest Morning Tea held on Monday, 2nd June. All proceeds will go towards supporting the vital work of the Australian Cancer Council.
A heartfelt thank-you to the 80 members and friends who attended and generously contributed—whether through donations or by bringing along a plate of delicious food to share. Your support helped create a warm, welcoming, and successful event.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Club for their generous donation of $1.00 for every cup of tea or coffee purchased on the day.
