Remote Control Buggies
General etiquette- Please make sure if you have a remote-control buggy that it is not moving whilst your playing partners are hitting. It is poor etiquette and is very distracting.
Pace of Play – Keeping up with the group in front will ensure the pace of play flows and is smooth, it will make the round more enjoyable for everyone. Here at Rossdale we also promote the process of “ready golf” this means, If you are at your ball and are ready to play your shot regardless if you behind or in front of your playing partner you are able to hit. This also promotes a lot more flow during the round and increases pace of play.

Maurie Portingale Senior Championship
|
|
After the first round of the Maurie Portingale Senior Championship we have an extremely tight leaderboard.
The First round was played on Saturday the 6th of January in fine sunny conditions and didn’t take long for the scoring to heat up. Ken O’brien held the clubhouse lead for the most part of the day with a solid 3 over par 75.
The afternoon wave was out on course and with plenty good scores brewing, it was going to be a tight leaderboard. Tom Nowak was off to a hot start birdieing holes 1 & 2 and settling for an even par front 9, with a couple bogeys on the back nine and a nice birdie up the 18th Tom would sign for a 1 over par 73. Geoff Charnley had a nice round going, 1 under par with 4 holes to play, but a few errors coming in Geoff would finish on 2 over par 74 and set himself up in a good position heading into the second round.

The Summer Cup is back in 2024 “the event everyone wants to win”.
The scoring did not disappoint with 4 players finishing on nett 70, 3 players on nett 69 and 3 players on nett 68.
Daniel Reaby, John Turner and John Cormack all sit on top of the leaderboard with nett 68’s. 1 shot behind we have Terrence Berger, Mitch Lomas and Kevin Tsitiridis.
Toby Hynes had a notable 2 under par round of 70 off a scratch handicap and the only player to shoot under par off the stick.
It will be a very interesting finish to the 2024 Summer Cup and to see who can hold their nerve in the next 2 rounds.
The Summer Cup could be anyone’s this year.
