Hello members
Please be advised that the rules of golf are changing on Jan 1st 2023. This the first update since 2019.
Whilst the change in 2019 was virtually a complete overhaul , the 2023 changes are not as extensive. Instead of 24 rules there will now be 25.
Rule 25 is focussed on modifications for players with disabilities .
There are also some modifications to some of the other 24 rules.
The players edition of the rules of golf (small handbook) will no longer be printed by R&A and USGA as everything is moving on line .
If like me you prefer a “hard copy” my humble advice if you have a 2019 hard copy is to treasure it and use your own “inserts” .
The more observant amongst you will have noticed that the on line version of the rules of golf in Miscore has already been updated to the 2023 version.

2022 Club Championships Quarter Final Results
|
|
|
Congratulations to all the members who have qualified through to the semi finals of the 2022 Club Championships! There were some extremely tight matches and some convincing wins in the quarter finals which always add to the incredible stories of the Championships. Semi Finals will be played this week off the first tee from 11:30, with the eventual victors only requiring two more wins to be crowned the 2022 Champion!

Corporate Cup
The 2022 Corporate Cup was held on Friday December 2nd and was without doubt the best day Rossdale has seen in a long time! The weather turned it on for the full field of members, sponsors and guests who all thrived in a fun action-packed Ambrose event!
Some highlights of the day were the countless bars available on course with beers and shots a plenty, the souvlaki’s on the 7th tee, BBQ on the 16th tee and the magnificent sit down dinner with special guest Marty Fields ensuring everyone was laughing.
The victorious team for 2022 consisted of 4 members; Roby Mahy, Gavin Duckham, Darren Hyland and Dwayne Hawken (pictured left to right).

Hole In One – Chris Hatten

|
Congratulations to 7 day member Chris Hatten on his Hole in One on Friday at the Corporate Cup! Chris struck a 3 wood on the 16th hole so well, his playing partners thought he had gone over the back of the green. When they were unable to locate the ball, Chris had a look in the hole and there it was!
Well done Chris!

Longest Day
On Wednesday the 21st of December Michael, Andrew and the Pennant players will be attempting to complete the Longest Day.
This is the fourth year running and to date the Club has raised close to $10,000 for the Cancer Council Australia.
The guys will tee off at 6:00am and attempt to complete 72 holes, walking in 1 day.
You are more than welcome to come out on the day and support or sponsor them by clicking below.

Lorna Steel Memorial Trophy Semi Final Results
|
|
|
Yesterday the Semi Finals of the Lorna Steel were played in perfect golfing conditions. Andeau Bowley had a very impressive win against Anneke Thomson 5/4 and Brenda Rogers was the eventual winner over Karin Schmidt 2/1. We wish both Andeau and Brenda all the best next week in the Final.

It has been an extremely difficult year with weather and range availability but our junior golfers have come on leaps and bounds over the past 12 months. This has been highlighted by our Junior Pennant side reaching the semi finals with homegrown junior talent leading the way.
On Saturday 17th December we will be hosting our annual Christmas breakup for all juniors who attend coaching sessions throughout the year. It will be a 1pm golf clinic followed by a BBQ and gift presentation. This day is free of charge for all Rossdale juniors to attend.
