Free Rules Education Session

Do you sometimes find yourself on course and are questioning whether you can have a drop from a situation and if so is it a free drop or are you penalised?

If this is you, or you just wish to receive a refresher on the rules of golf you may like to attend our Free Rules Session run by our Club Captain Vic Wotherspoon and Director of Golf Michael Moore.

This session is scheduled for Saturday the 3rd of December at 9:30am.

The session will run for about 1 hour and 30 minutes and will give you a great over view of the rules of golf and hopefully improve your understanding and confidence of them.

Junior Pennant Semi Final Results

Hi all, today was the day, semi finals and the team was absolutely primed.  Today, Matilda was our reserve. Once again showing the unity and spirit of this group, she spent all day walking from match to match supporting and encouraging the players. Thanks to GA and Sandringham Golf Links for the effort (?) made in the finals process. At 1 Toby, a solid win, 2/1. Skipper next, Sam had a solid start, but Hughie wasn’t kind and a 3/2 loss for Sam today. The Revelation, Cam playing at 3. Dormy on 12 Cam bluffed us all the way to 17 for his win. No comment Once again at 5 Dyl played a fighting round. Up, down and square all day to finally finish with a 3/2 loss. At 6 Elijah, didn’t have the day he would’ve liked and we were looking at a final match in play with us 3/2 down. Jack, our last match, 1 up after 17 and we are looking at extra holes.

18 didn’t quite go to plan and all square, so down 1 we go. Great drives by both players, then some very nervous 2nd shots. A great recovery from Olivia and a slight misjudged chip from Jack a fighting recovery and then, for the first time all day, the flat stick didn’t behave for Jack A win for Eastern.

What can I say now

So proud. Of all the efforts, all the fights, all the games This beautiful bunch of members have given their all representing Rossdale this season. They have won their region (and I look forward to the postie delivering our Pennant GA) and played ALL matches in a manner that reflects nothing but the best of golf and our club. Members, do yourselves a favour and introduce, talk and play with every single member of this squad. You will be the better for it Before I leave you for the year, my final thank you. Mike and all the pro shop staff, you have been courteous and professional with all my silly requests, John Cormack, you have been a rock and an awesome sounding board when I’ve annoyed you with texts. I could not have got through the season without the good sense from you Gerry and the bar staff. Thanks for staying up late every time To every single member who came to watch. Your support says so much about Rossdale. You came out in numbers every round. I’ll never forget that support Finally, the Merry Go Round. To the caddies, your knowledge and patience shamed everyone single other club we played this season. Other than the players, this support is something that makes me proud to be part of our club. We could not have done this without you all. So Paul, James, Kev, John, Karin, Mark, Jason, Winx, Browny, Vic and particularly  Mike Moore, our director of golf, who gave some of his valuable time off to come today. I apologise if I have forgotten anyone I sincerely thank you all!

Until next year,

The Manager
