COVID 19 – Member Update – Course Closure, March 28th

28th March 2020 - Board Communication, Latest News

Dear Members,

Last night at approximately 8.30pm the golf club received the following recommendation from Golf Australia;

based on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services directive issued as part of the Victorian Government’s Stage 2 restrictions regarding COVID-19, all golf clubs and facilities should close as soon as practicable until April 13, 2020.

The directive that prohibits social sports gatherings applies to golf clubs and facilities, which are classified as ‘recreational facilities’ under clause 5 of the directive.

The golf club will therefore close the course to members at the end of todays field, approximately 2.00pm. As previously communicated the locker rooms will be open until 12.00pm today so that members can collect their belongings. Members scheduled to play today are asked to consider Golf Australia’s recommendation and reconsider their social round of golf.

Members who store clubs at the Pro Shop will be able to collect their equipment today before 2.00pm or on Monday between the hours of 9.00am and 12.00pm.

As previously communicated, all financial members will receive the following financial support;

Should the club be forced to close due to government restrictions Rossdale will offer its financial members a one-off reimbursement in the following way;

The dollar value ($) of the time for course closure, as determined by the Board of Directors, will be credited as a direct deposit to member house accounts

The Board of Directors continue to discuss ways to support its members during this unprecedented pandemic.

The Club administration and Course maintenance team will remain on site in very limited capacity to ensure the facilities remain in the best possible condition and that members can be returned to their club immediately when the environment changes.

On behalf of the operational team, I wish every member and their families a healthy and safe return to the club.

Regards,

Andrew Noonan

General Manager
