Meet the Members!
Rossdale has always been regarded as Melbourne’s friendliest golf club. We think that’s because Rossdale has the best members. As such, we thought we would take the time in the coming weeks to introduce all our new members to the wonderful characters and long-standing playing groups that make this club such a vibrant place.
I would personally like to take the time to thank Phil O’Gorman for this fantastic idea. Great work mate! This week we bring you the Thursday afternoon BBQ Boys.
We encourage all are members to actively engage with these social groups to get the most out of their membership.

Thursday Arvo BBQ Boys
Every Thursday at quarter to 12 the ‘Thursday BBQ Boys’ have an informal BBQ for anyone wishing to join. As a general menu, Neville ‘Nifty’ McAllen serves sausages, rissoles, steak, onions and salad. Any members or guests can order directly on his mobile on 0417356627 or let the pro shop know.
There is a pro comp on Thursday’s, as well as a $5 comp run by none other than wee Johnny Anderson, winner takes all! The BBQ is turned off at 12.30pm and groups are organised before heading to the tee. Corporate groups are most welcome and is a good way of networking your business. Red wine is also available with your tender steak!
All members are encouraged to join in for lunch, golf or both with this friendly group of blokes!

Timesheets are open for members for Grand Final Day Eve, Friday the 27th of September. This will be a very busy day for the club and we are opening these sheets up early to ensure all members have first priority!
On the Grand Final Eve Public Holiday, the kitchen will not be open for bistro meals. The bar will run as per normal with members draw and happy hour from 5pm-7pm.

Doing it for Jarrod Day!
Last Saturday the 24th of August, Rossdale Golf Club participated in Daffodil Day & Doing it for Jarrod Day.
Rossdale Golf Club is proud to announce that in #DoingItForJarrod it raised $426 for Challenge supporting kids with cancer. Rossdale is very proud of the generosity of its members who wore #YellowforLyle and donated before their game of golf!
Well done to Stephen Macdonald and Chris Fraser who respectively took out the Men’s & Ladies Competitions, each scoring themselves a Jarrod Lyle Titleist pack!
70th Anniversary & Captain’s Night @ Rossdale
The 2019 Captain’s Night will be held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Rossdale Golf Club on Saturday the 21st of September. The night will include a range of entertainment including a ten piece New Orleans jazz band, canapes, two courses and an unlimited drinks package, all of which will tie in with the night’s 1920s underground speakeasy theme. We hope to see you there. It sure will be a fantastic evening celebrating both the captain and the proud history of the club.
This event is booking out fast!!! Please remember that 5 & 6 day members can play in the competition on Saturday the 21st of September free of charge if they are attending the night.

Food & Wine Night a Raging Success!
Our first of the four Food and Wine nights was a fantastic success. Those in attendance were presented with a series of international wines perfectly matched with an exceptional 5 course menu prepared by our very own three hatted head chef, Patrick Bowring.
After the raving reviews received from the first night, the second Food & Wine Night is expected to sell out early! This night will celebrate Australian wine with another perfectly matched menu that will be announced shortly!

Corporate Cup 2019
Entries are now open for the 2019 Corporate Cup. This is best day of the year for golf, food and beverage.
Bookings will only be accepted with an upfront payment due to the high demand.
There will be a guest speaker for the night, and we promise it is an event not to be missed.

Long Game Masterclass
This Thursday the 29th of August PGA Teaching Professional Peter Manzie will be hosting a bunker magic class, in the class we will cover the correct set up and technique for all types of sand and lies in the bunker.
The clinics are capped at 6 people to ensure each person gets the attention required , all bookings can be made online via the timesheet portal.
Cost: $25 pp

All members ProShop and Bar accounts have been merged! Over $8000 in total has been transferred, so be sure to check out your new balance at the bar/proshop.
On Friday the 6th of September, there will be an Indian theme night ran for members on the deck! This night will consist of a buffet for $20 per head. Happy hour will run as per normal with $2.50 stubbies available from the deck bar!
