Meet the Members!
Rossdale has always been regarded as Melbourne’s friendliest golf club. We think that’s because Rossdale has the best members. As such, we thought we would take the time in the coming weeks to introduce all our new members to the wonderful characters and long-standing playing groups that make this club such a vibrant place.
I would personally like to take the time to thank Phil O’Gorman for this fantastic idea. Great work mate! Next week we will start with the Thursday morning “skins” group.
We encourage all are members to actively engage with these social groups to get the most out of their membership.

Thursday Skins Group
The Thursday morning skins group has a regular couple of bookings on a Thursday morning at 9.48am.
This group is open to anyone who just wants to turn up, no bookings are needed! Be here by 9.30am when they randomly select groups for the day and play the competition of the day.
After the round the group heads to the deck to have a drink. At this time each player puts in $1.00 and the winner(s) divide this pool. After that they put in 20c a hole and then go through the cards and divide up the pool by who wins the “skins”. The most it will ever cost you is $4.60 and you never know you may make a profit on the day!
As many as turn up can play. It might be 4,6,10 or more. Each week is different. Just know that you are welcome to join in each Thursday. The group is always very welcoming to new members!
70th Anniversary & Captain’s Night @ Rossdale
The 2019 Captain’s Night will be held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Rossdale Golf Club on Saturday the 21st of September. The night will include a range of entertainment including a ten piece New Orleans jazz band, canapes, two courses and an unlimited drinks package, all of which will tie in with the night’s 1920s underground speakeasy theme. We hope to see you there. It sure will be a fantastic evening celebrating both the captain and the proud history of the club.
This event is booking out fast!!! Please remember that 5 & 6 day members can play in the competition on Saturday the 21st of September free of charge if they are attending the night.

Melbourne Cup!
We had over 200 people attend our Melbourne Cup Day in 2018! We have no doubt that this year will be even BIGGER and BETTER than last year!

Food & Wine Night a Raging Success!
Our first of the four Food and Wine nights was a fantastic success. Those in attendance were presented with a series of international wines perfectly matched with an exceptional 5 course menu prepared by our very own three hatted head chef, Patrick Bowring.
After the raving reviews received from the first night, the second Food & Wine Night is expected to sell out early! This night will celebrate Australian wine with another perfectly matched menu that will be announced shortly!

Daffodil Day & Doing it for Jarrod Day this Saturday!
This Saturday the 24th of August, Rossdale Golf Club will be participating in Daffodil Day & Doing it for Jarrod Day.
All players are encouraged to dress in yellow to show their support for Jarrod Lyle and Cancer Council’s most iconic and much-loved annual campaign that raises life-saving funds for world-class cancer research.
Everyone is required to donate a gold coin at the ProShop. There will be a Titleist Pack to be won for the Nearest the Pin on the 3rd hole.
Rossdale members should be incredibly proud of their charitable nature.
Rossdale Cup Champion!
Well done to Club President and Men’s Pennant stalwart, Geoff Charnley, for winning the Rossdale Cup in dramatic fashion over Jason Ling. The match was a see-sawing affair for the majority of the day, before Charnley turned it on late to win the prestigious board event 2&1.
Well done to all those who competed. We hope you enjoyed the chance to play competitive match-play!

Corporate Cup 2019
Entries are now open for the 2019 Corporate Cup. This is best day of the year for golf, food and beverage.
Bookings will only be accepted with an upfront payment due to the high demand.
There will be a guest speaker for the night, and we promise it is an event not to be missed.

Long Game Masterclass
This Friday the 23rd of August PGA Teaching Professional Peter Manzie will host the third of many Master Class’s. Each session will cover different aspects of the game and will ensure you get your swing in shape heading into Spring.
This week will cover the fundamentals of the short game and how we can get a consistent strike and control with our long game.
Only 4 spots left! All bookings can be made online via the timesheet portal.

On Friday the 23rd of August, there will be a Mexican Theme Night which will be held on the upper deck! It’s only $20 per head for a full Mexican buffet including Brisket, Spicy Grilled Chicken Thighs, Corn on the Cob with Smoked Paprika Butter, Tortillas, Coleslaw, Salads and condiments.
