Meet the Rossdale team!

In recent weeks we have been introducing our dynamic, professional and friendly team. Having welcomed over 200 new members in recent years, many of whom may not have been introduced to the department team leaders. As such, I’d like to take the time to introduce each of our hard working team.

Last week we introduced Events Coordinator, Lucy Turner. This week we are pleased to introduce Kyle Conway who works in Golf Administration.

Golf Administration – Kyle Conway

Kyle Conway is a familiar face to many at Rossdale, having been a 10 year member despite being only 20 years of age. In this time Kyle has represented the club in both the Colts & Men’s Pennant teams. As a passionate golfer and Rossdale member Kyle has also been runner-up in the Men’s Club Championship, won multiple foursomes and junior championships and a host of other club awards.

Kyle graduated from St Bede’s College where he achieved an incredible ATAR score of 99.15 and is currently studying a double degree of Engineering & Commerce at Monash University. In this time he has worked as an analyst at Deloitte Private and completed a commercial strategy internship at Carlton & United Breweries.

Having worked in the hospitality department at Victoria Golf Club, Kyle joined the Rossdale food & beverage team two years ago and has slowly progressed into an administration role within our golf department. Membership administration services and communications are Kyle’s main responsibilities along with the management of social groups and online marketing.

If any members ever have any questions or concerns regarding membership, golf or any other matters, Kyle is more than happy to help!

Food & Wine Night a Raging Success!

Our first of the four Food and Wine nights was a fantastic success. Those in attendance were presented with a series of international wines perfectly matched with an exceptional 5 course menu prepared by our very own three hatted head chef, Patrick Bowring.

After the raving reviews received from the first night, the second Food & Wine Night is expected to sell out early! This night will celebrate Australian wine with another perfectly matched menu that will be announced shortly!

Winter Cup Final – 4th Time Lucky?

With a 4up advantage starting on the 5th Hole last Sunday most would have thought it was a mere formality that our winners would be Paul Warden and Vic Wotherspoon at the end of the day, however there was one more twist when David Quinan and Trevor Prosser won the final hole to square the match. With darkness setting in both teams agreed to continuing the match this Thursday where we hope we will eventually crown our Winter Cup Champions through a sudden death playoff.

New Cart & Buggy Area

A huge congratulations to Travis Stillman and his course team, Daniel Baskin, Luke Holding, Rick East and Ben Smith for delivering another successful project on the golf course.

In an effort to improve the presentation of the facilities around the clubhouse and decrease stress on grasses in high traffic areas, the course staff have introduced a buggy & golf cart parking area.

It is impressive how such a small team can maintain the golf course to a high standard while also regularly delivering improvements to clubs facilities and operations. Well done course team!

Corporate Cup 2019

Entries are now open for the 2019 Corporate Cup. This is best day of the year for golf, food and beverage.

Bookings will only be accepted with an upfront payment due to the high demand.

There will be a guest speaker for the night, and we promise it is an event not to be missed.

Golf Lesson Promotion

For the months of July & August our Teaching Professionals Michael Moore and Peter Manzie are offering a special offer where if you purchase (2) 30 minute golf lessons for $110 you will receive the 3rd lesson FREE OF CHARGE.

Peter is already making an impact with his Coaching,. Member ‘Patrick Raleigh’ had a lesson last Thursday afternoon and on Friday he had his best score for the year posting 40 points. Peter worked on Patrick’s weight transfer on his back swing allowing him to load more power onto his left leg (Patrick is left handed) this helped Patrick transfer more weight during the follow through and ultimately produced better contact and more power.

Junior Golf Lessons – Term 3 – Starts Wednesday

Starting on Wednesday the 17th of July, junior clinics will be held every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The cost for the 10 week term is $100 or $170 for 2 children from the same family! 

Each week lessons will focus on a new aspect of the game with the goal to get the juniors out on course as soon as possible.
