The Rossdale Food & Beverage team are excited to bring members a series of food and wine nights to showcase the exceptional hospitality services of Rossdale Golf Club. The night will be hosted by one of Melbourne’s best up and coming sommelier’s presenting a series of international wines perfectly matched with an exceptional menu prepared by our very own head chef, Patrick Bowring, who brings all of his experience in three hat restaurants to this menu.

The first evening, the International Night, will commence on Friday the 19th of July and will consist of a 5 COURSE SIT DOWN  menu (6:30 PM – 10:30 PM) including: 

Sydney Rock Oysters 

Mackerel Tartare served with cauliflower, rye toast and storm clam sauce. 

Mushroom Cigar, chestnuts and truffle mayo 

Slow Cooked Beef Rib, artichoke, heirloom carrots and jus. 

Cinnamon Cronut, custard and chocolate textures

70th Anniversary & Captain’s Night @ Rossdale

 

The 2019 Captain’s Night will be held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Rossdale Golf Club on Saturday the 21st of September.  The night will include a range of entertainment including a ten piece New Orleans jazz band, canapes, two courses and an unlimited drinks package, all of which will tie in with the night’s 1920s underground speakeasy theme. We hope to see you there. It sure will be a fantastic evening celebrating both the captain and the proud history of the club.

Inspired by the Deep South theme, the menu is announced as follows!

CANAPES:           

Potato and Jalapeno croquettes with burnt leek Aioli

Chicken Slider, guacamole, pickled zucchini and mayo slaw

Fried Mozzarella Sticks with buffalo sauce

Bourbon cured Trout, fennel , creme fraiche and dill

 

MAIN:

24hr Brisket, smoked onion puree, corn bread, mustard and gravy

Siren Starts commencing this Saturday (8 June 2019)

Well done to all teams who progressed through the first round of the Winter Cup! There were plenty of close matches out there… and some not so close (you know who you are).

The second round will be held on the 15th of June due to the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.

Members should be aware that shotgun starts of 7:40am and 12:20pm will be commencing on the 8th of June to maximise the amount of completed rounds in a day with the reduction in daylight hours. This means after this week the Winter Cup matches will be at 7:40am for teams nominated in the morning draw & 12:20pm for teams nominated in the afternoon draw. The final will be held on the 13th of July. Please note your starting handicap in the event will form an anchor, you cannot play off a higher handicap in rounds following Round 1 but you can play off a lower one!

Mixed Foursomes Championship

Congratulations to the powerhouse mixed foursomes team of Geoff Charnley & Cathie Maggio on successfully defending The Mixed Foursomes Championship on Sunday the 2nd of June, winning both the gross and nett formats with a score of 76 nett 72 over Peter Bowden & Joy Adams. Well done to all involved, with an extra special mention to Shane Foots for organising and driving the event which saw 30 teams fight it out for the title! 

Another mixed board event is coming up in the form of the Ron & Irene Budge Trophy! Be sure to grab a partner and register at the proshop for this mixed 4BBB Stableford event that will be played on Sunday the 23rd of June!

MyGolf Coming to Rossdale!

Director of Golf Michael Moore is bringing Australia’s Junior Golf Program, MyGolf to Rossdale! Starting on Wednesday the 17th of July, the junior clinics will be held every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The cost for the 10 week term is $100 or $170 for 2 children from the same family! That’s only $10 a session!

Some of you might have noticed the new desserts going around the bistro. Last week the Salted Caramel Apple Cronut was flying out the door. Be sure to order one with your next meal for only $8! Stay tuned for the homemade Sticky Date Pudding with Caramel Sauce & Vanilla Ice-cream this week… I can assure you it’s to die for. They are available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
