Introducing our Head Chef Patrick Bowring
Growing up in the ‘colourful’ St. Kilda in the nineties, Patrick’s Hospitality career started when he soon realised school wasn’t going to be one of his strong points.
He found him self working in Richmond’s hip Gastro pub “the Kingston’, Under head chef Emma MacKay (Young Chef of the Year 2003). He then went on to work at ‘Circa The Prince’ and was fortunate to be apart of the Kitchen Team to be awarded the prestigious Three Hats from The Age Good Food Guide (2005).
Unfortunately for Pat, in 2009 he met Andrew Noonan at the Mentone Hotel. In their time at Mentone, they both steered the business to record profit years.
After a few more roles leading his own kitchens in Melbourne, he relocated to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula to open and run the kitchen at McCrae’s Pavilion.
Fortunately timing has worked for us and we have landed Pat at Rossdale Golf Club. His menu’s are inspired by locally sourced produce, aged quality cuts of meat and seasonal vegetables which are treated with respect and cooked with honed technique.
In his spare time you can find him tackling Australia’s hardest ultra-marathons and hanging out with his wife and two cheeky daughters Poppy and Violet.

From the Course!
As you will be well aware, winter is upon us, with 92 mm of rain through May and another 72 mm midway through June, ensuring our irrigation dams are full.
Currently golf carts are still in use on the golf course, I believe this is due to the setting up off ropes, posts and hoops in areas which are known to struggle from heavy traffic. I understand that these barriers can be unsightly and a hindrance, but please ensure that these barriers remain in the correct locations and that golf carts remain outside of the blue lines. Cart access to the course will be reviewed weekly, with our intention to keep carts out there for as long as possible.

70th Anniversary & Captain’s Night @ Rossdale
The 2019 Captain’s Night will be held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Rossdale Golf Club on Saturday the 21st of September. The night will include a range of entertainment including a ten piece New Orleans jazz band, canapes, two courses and an unlimited drinks package, all of which will tie in with the night’s 1920s underground speakeasy theme. We hope to see you there. It sure will be a fantastic evening celebrating both the captain and the proud history of the club.
Inspired by the Deep South theme, the menu is announced as follows!
CANAPES:

This Sunday the Ron & Irene Budge Trophy was contended last Sunday which saw Keith Sykes & Joanne Sykes have 43 points to win by three over Darren Kerr & Cathie Maggio and Chris Thorne & Gina Thorne who respectively tied for second. What another fantastic mixed event at Rossdale!
Junior Golf Lessons – Term 3
Starting on Wednesday the 17th of July, junior clinics will be held every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The cost for the 10 week term is $100 or $170 for 2 children from the same family!
Each week lessons will focus on a new aspect of the game with the goal to get the juniors out on course as soon as possible.

The clubhouse will now be operational from 10:00am every day beginning the 1st of July. The pro-shop will be open to service members with beverages (including coffees & alcohol) and food (both hot & cold) from 7am.
