Old Winter Cup Format Back With a BANG!
The Winter Cup starts this week and we are very excited to announce that it will be entirely 4BBB KNOCKOUT MATCH PLAY for the ENTIRE event! The Captain & ProShop have created the draw and the timesheet will be released tomorrow afternoon. Please note your times may be subject to slightly change to accommodate the knockout format. You will able to check your tee-times online tomorrow afternoon. The first two rounds are the 1st & 15th of June due to the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.
Members should be aware that shotgun starts of 7:40am and 12:20pm will be commencing on the 8th of June to maximise the amount of completed rounds in a day with the reduction in daylight hours. This means after this week the Winter Cup matches will be at 7:40am for teams nominated in the morning draw & 12:20pm for teams nominated in the afternoon draw. The final will be held on the 13th of July. Please call the ProShop for any questions regarding tee-times or the new format. Please note your starting handicap in the event will form an anchor, you cannot play off a higher handicap in rounds following Round 1 but you can play off a lower one!
Mixed Foursomes Championship
The Mixed Foursomes Championship is scheduled for this Sunday the 2nd of June and we currently have 54 players registered! This single round of Foursomes Stroke includes both a scratch (Honour Board event) and handicap event. Entries are still open for this fantastic event, please contact the Pro Shop for entry.
There will be a BBQ at the conclusion of the day at a cost of $15 per person. This can be paid to either our Events Co-ordinator Lucy Turner over the bar or to the Mixed Foursomes King, Shane Foots, prior to your tee off. Good luck to all playing!
MyGolf Coming to Rossdale!
Director of Golf Michael Moore is bringing Australia’s Junior Golf Program, MyGolf to Rossdale! Starting on Wednesday the 17th of July, the junior clinics will be held every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The cost for the 10 week term is $100 or $170 for 2 children from the same family! That’s only $10 a session!

For those with good taste…
While Gerard is keeping a tight lip on the specific wine varietals, the chef’s word tells me that the International Night on Friday the 19th of July will be a 5 COURSE SIT DOWN (6:30 PM – 10:30 PM) including, Sydney Rock Oysters as appetisers followed by Mackerel Tartare served with cauliflower, rye toast and storm clam sauce. Course two will consist of mushroom cigar, chestnuts and truffle mayo followed by the hero, slow cooked beef rib, artichoke, heirloom carrots and jus. Cinnamon Cronut, custard and chocolate textures will round out what is sure to be a night nothing short of delectable.

70th Anniversary & Captain’s Night @ Rossdale
The 2019 Captain’s Night will be held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Rossdale Golf Club on Saturday the 21st of September. The night will include a range of entertainment including a ten piece New Orleans jazz band, canapes, two courses and an unlimited drinks package, all of which will tie in with the night’s 1920s underground speakeasy theme. Bookings can be made at the office or alternatively by calling the office on 95801008 and selecting line 3 for events. We hope to see you there. It sure will be a fantastic evening celebrating both the captain and the proud history of the club.
Another reminder that the upcoming Captain’s Day has been rescheduled to coincide with this year’s Captains Night on Saturday, September 21st. Due to this change, the event of the day on Saturday May 18th has been amended to a Stableford competition. This change will ensure the Captain’s Day has its justice being held in conjunction with Captain’s Night!
June Medal Winner!
Congratulations to Kevin Tsitiridis who edged out Bruce Goodman and new member Sean McDonnell to win the June Monthly Medal with 40 points!
Kevin is a Rossdale favourite who regularly volunteers at the club, even cooking delicious Greek food on the 7th tee every year at the Corporate Cup.
Well done Kevin!

Some of you might have noticed the new desserts going around the bistro. Last week the fig and vanilla Cream Pavlova has been flying out the door. Be sure to order one with your next meal for only $8! Stay tuned for the Salted caramel Apple Cronut this week… They are available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
