SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS

These amendments are proposed by Jason Clarke (Vice President) and seconded by President, Geoff Charnley on behalf of the Board of Directors.

MOTION 1: Current:

Country, Interstate and Overseas Members

Persons whose ordinary place of residence is more than 100 kilometres radius from the Clubhouse shall be eligible to be elected as Country, Interstate and Overseas Members. If any such Member shall be resident within 100 kilometres radius of the Clubhouse for a period exceeding three months in any one-year that person shall cease to be a Country, Interstate and Overseas Member. A Country, Interstate and Overseas Member may play the course a maximum of 12 times per year. Any subsequent rounds of golf will require green fees to be paid before the commencement of the round. Playing rights shall be determined from time to time by the Board.

Proposed: Country, Interstate and Overseas Members

Persons whose ordinary place of residence is more than 25 kilometres radius from the Clubhouse shall be eligible to be elected as Country, Interstate and Overseas Members. If any such Member shall be resident within 25 kilometres radius of the Clubhouse for a period exceeding three months in any one-year that person shall cease to be a Country, Interstate and Overseas Member. A Country, Interstate and Overseas Member may play the course a maximum of 12 times per year. Any subsequent rounds of golf will require green fees to be paid before the commencement of the round. Playing rights shall be determined from time to time by the Board.

THE REASON:

  • As at 25 July 2017, Rossdale GC only has 3 Country Members for a total subs revenue of $1,875.
  • Of our 550 playing members (excl Country), only 2 live between 25 km and 30 km from Rossdale. There are no players that live beyond 30 km.
  • The 100 km zone was created over 60 years ago and is outdated.
  • It is the belief of the Membership committee that there is a market for players that are prepared to travel for golf if the cost is competitive.
