Located in the south eastern suburb of Aspendale, Rossdale Golf Club is a picturesque bayside course weaving through corridors of pines, eucalyptus and coastal banksias.A lush kikuyu course in the tradition of famous Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles where magnificent poa putting greens blend smoothly into the surrounding landscape. The layout is quite challenging for all levels of golfers with numerous bunkers and water hazards framing a collection of distinctive holes. A real design feature is the variety of distances on the par threes which puts a premium on iron play throughout the entire bag. The approach to the seventh illustrates the strategic element with approach shots needing to avoid a lake short and right of the three-tiered green. Visitors times and days: Visitors charge: |
The footy ground over the fence was once graced by Stan Alves and Gerard Healy in their developing years before becoming AFL stars. Alves lives locally and is a proud member of Rossdale Golf Club. The ranch-style clubhouse boasts a very friendly atmosphere with a new outdoor entertaining area overlooking the course that twice staged the Australian PGA Championship in the early 1960s. Rossdale is a private members club with country, interstate and overseas golf club members most welcome to play at designated times. Rossdale Golf Club is a company limited by guarantee and is administered through an elected Board of Directors and supported by a professional management team and other staff.
